At Becci’s Bridal Designs, every pair begins with a conversation. Together, we will shape your ideas into an original design before your shoes are handmade and individually embellished with care.

Your ideas, interpreted in my signature style

Perhaps you already know exactly what you would like. Perhaps you only have a colour, a flower, a piece of lace or a feeling you would love the shoes to capture. Either is a lovely place to begin.

Your design might include:

• Wedding colours or details inspired by your outfit

• Lace, flowers, pearls, crystals, embroidery or bows

• Names, initials, dates or a short inscription

• Meaningful motifs, places, animals, books or seasonal themes

• Carefully selected photographs or printed imagery

• A small piece of suitable lace or fabric from your dress—or from a treasured family garment

• Decorated soles, coordinating shoe clips or matching accessories

I will bring these elements together in a considered, wearable design rather than simply placing every idea onto one shoe. The result should feel personal, beautifully balanced and entirely yours.

How the bespoke design process works

1. Tell me about your vision

Send me your wedding or event date, delivery country, shoe size, preferred heel height and any ideas you already have. Inspiration photographs, outfit images, colour references and links to details you love are all helpful.

You do not need to create a perfect brief. A few favourite details and an idea of how you want the shoes to feel—romantic, colourful, celestial, gothic, floral, understated or wonderfully dramatic—are enough to start the conversation.

2. Choose your base shoe

Your shoes are not bought ready-made and then decorated. I collaborate with a small artisan shoe company to handmake the base shoes for your order, giving me the flexibility to offer genuinely individual designs.

Choose from the available toe shapes, heel heights, straps, fabrics and base colours. I will help you select a style that suits both your design and how you hope to wear it.

Not every heel, toe, strap or material can be combined, and changing one structural detail can affect the fit and balance of the entire shoe. I will always explain what is practical before your order is confirmed.

3. Develop the details

We will refine your colours, placement, materials and personal touches. I source embellishments individually or make them by hand, selecting each element for the particular design rather than working from a fixed production formula.

Once the direction is agreed, I will confirm the design details in writing. For a particularly complex idea, I may also use a simple concept sketch or visual layout to help communicate the arrangement. This is an artistic guide rather than an exact photographic preview: scale, positioning and materials may be gently adjusted while making so the finished design sits beautifully on the shoe.

4. Approve your design and quote

Your quote will reflect the base shoe, materials, complexity and time needed to create the design. Bespoke prices therefore vary, and I can only provide an accurate quote once I understand what you would like.

Please check the confirmed details carefully. Your production space is secured when the design, price and timeframe have been agreed and payment has been made.

Requests made after approval may not be possible once materials have been ordered or work has begun. Where a change can be accommodated, additional design, material or making costs may apply and the completion date may move.

5. Handmade especially for you

Your base shoes are made before I begin the decorative work in my studio. Lace, flowers, crystals, pearls and personalised elements are then prepared and applied individually by hand.

Most custom shoes require approximately 8–10 weeks to create before dispatch. Highly detailed work, unusual materials or busy seasonal periods may require longer. Delivery time is additional, so please enquire as early as possible—particularly for international orders.

Where helpful, I may share an update during the making process. Because I work alone and need uninterrupted making time, updates are sent at appropriate milestones rather than as a continuous step-by-step service.

6. The final reveal

Once complete, your shoes are carefully checked, photographed and packaged in their presentation box with tissue and the relevant care information. They are then sent using the delivery service selected for your destination.

What to send with your enquiry

To help me advise and quote accurately, please include:

• Your wedding or event date

• The date you need the shoes in hand, if earlier

• Your delivery country

• Your usual UK shoe size and foot measurements

• Preferred heel height and base shoe style

• Outfit photographs and colour references, if available

• Inspiration images and an explanation of what you like in each one

• Any names, dates, wording, motifs or photographs you would like included

• Whether you are considering sending your own lace, fabric or small keepsake

• Your approximate budget, if you have one

Inspiration, not imitation

You are welcome to share photographs of other shoes, flowers, clothing, artwork or wedding details to explain the mood and elements you love. However, I will not reproduce another designer’s work exactly.

I will interpret your ideas through my own design style and making techniques, creating an original piece for you. Copyrighted characters, logos and artwork may also be restricted; I will let you know if an idea needs to be adapted.

Using dress lace, heirloom fabric or sentimental details

Adding a small element from a wedding dress or family garment can make a design incredibly meaningful. Before sending anything, please contact me so I can check whether its weight, condition, scale and construction are suitable.

Please send only material you have permission to cut and permanently alter, and never send an entire irreplaceable garment unless specifically agreed. Older lace and fabric can be fragile, and although every care will be taken, working with vintage material always carries some risk. Usable offcuts will be returned where agreed and practical.

Colour matching

Screens, studio lighting and photographs can all display colour differently. If an exact or very close match matters, ask about a physical swatch and send a fabric sample where possible.

Satin base shoes can often be professionally dyed, while velvet and vegan suede are available only in selected colours and cannot be dyed. Embellishments will be coordinated carefully, but handmade flowers, crystals, pearls, lace and dyed materials can show subtle variations.

Fit and comfort come first

A beautiful design begins with the right base shoe. Choose a heel height and shape you already feel comfortable wearing, rather than selecting only by appearance.

Custom decoration does not automatically change the fit of a shoe. If you require made-to-measure adjustments, these must be discussed and agreed before ordering. Measure both feet using the full guide and tell me about width differences, bunions, orthotics or other fit concerns.

While measurements help me advise, remote ordering cannot replicate an in-person fitting and no shoe can be guaranteed comfortable for every foot or for an unlimited length of wear.

How to measure your feet 

A few important things to know

• Each pair is handmade, so tiny variations between the shoes and from a sketch or inspiration image are part of its individual character.

• Custom, personalised and made-to-measure shoes are created specifically for you and cannot normally be returned because you change your mind. This does not affect your rights if an item is faulty or not as described.

• Embellished shoes are delicate works of wearable art. Avoid rain, wet grass, rough surfaces and contact with perfume, hairspray or cleaning products.

• Availability of fabrics and embellishments can change. If an agreed component becomes unavailable, I will contact you to approve the closest suitable alternative.

• Bespoke work begins only after the full design, quote, payment and required measurements have been received.

Frequently asked questions

Can you work on shoes I send to you?

My designs are created using base shoes handmade especially for the order. I do not normally customise customer-supplied shoes because I cannot verify their materials, construction or suitability for the processes I use.

Can you copy a pair I have found online?

No. You can show me which individual details you like, but I will create an original interpretation rather than copying another maker’s design.

Do I have to know exactly what I want?

Not at all. Send your colours, outfit and a few images or themes you love, and I can help you shape the idea.

Will I receive a drawing?

The agreed design is always confirmed in writing. For complex designs I may also use a simple concept sketch or visual layout where it will help, but this is not included automatically with every order and is not an exact rendering of the finished handmade shoes.

Can you match my dress exactly?

I can coordinate colours and details closely, especially when supplied with a physical fabric sample, but an exact match cannot be guaranteed across different materials and finishes.

How much will custom shoes cost?

Prices depend on the chosen base shoe, materials, complexity and making time. Send as much information as possible and I will prepare a personal quote.

Can you make them more quickly?

Occasionally a shorter timeframe is possible, depending on the design, size, material availability and current workload. Contact me before ordering. Rush work and upgraded delivery may carry additional costs.

Can you make matching accessories?

Depending on the design, coordinating shoe clips, a bag, hair accessory or other details may be possible. Ask about these at the beginning so they can be planned together and allowed for in the timeframe.
