Bridal Shoe Colour, Fabric & Embellishment Guide

Choose from beautiful satin shades, sparkling glitters, crystals and pearls to create bridal shoes and accessories that complement your dress, wedding colours and personal style.

This guide shows the standard colour ranges available. Not every colour or material is suitable for every design, and availability may occasionally change. Please contact me before ordering if you require a particular shade or would like help coordinating different materials.

Important information about colours

Colours can appear differently depending on your device, screen brightness, display settings and surrounding light. The photographs and charts are intended as a helpful guide, but they cannot guarantee an exact colour match.

Satin, glitter, pearls and crystals reflect light differently, so materials described by the same colour name may not look identical when placed together. For example, an ivory satin shoe, ivory pearl and clear AB crystal will coordinate beautifully, but they will not appear as one completely uniform shade.

Photographs may also look different under natural daylight, warm indoor lighting, professional photography and camera flash.

If you need to match a dress, fabric or specific wedding colour closely, please contact me before ordering. Where available, purchasing a physical satin swatch is the most reliable way to assess a colour.

Satin shoe colours

Our standard satin shoe range includes traditional bridal shades alongside soft pastels, rich jewel tones, metallics and brighter statement colours.

Available shades may include:

The style of shoe shown beside each colour is illustrative. A particular shoe design may not be available in every standard shade.

Dyeable satin shoes

In most cases, satin shoes can be professionally dyed to create a custom colour. However, dyeing suitability depends on the shoe material, construction and design, so please contact me before placing your order.

A few important points to consider:

• Only suitable dyeable satin components will absorb the dye.

• Soles, linings, fastenings and some trims will not necessarily change colour.

• Crystals, pearls, lace, flowers and other embellishments may need to be selected separately to coordinate with the dyed satin.

• Very pale colours and subtle shades can be affected by the original base colour of the satin.

• An exact match cannot always be guaranteed, particularly when matching from a photograph or digital image.

• Slight tonal variation can occur across different materials and dye batches.

• Dyed satin shoes should be protected from rain and excessive moisture, as water can mark satin and may affect the colour.

For the best possible match, I may request a physical fabric swatch from your dress, bridesmaid dress or wedding outfit. Please do not send irreplaceable fabric, as swatches may be marked during colour matching.

Velvet and vegan suede shoes

Selected shoe designs are also available in velvet or vegan suede. These fabrics offer a beautifully soft, rich finish and work particularly well for autumn, winter and alternative weddings.

Velvet and vegan suede are available in a limited selection of colours, and the shades offered will depend on the particular shoe style and current fabric availability.

Unlike suitable satin shoes, velvet and vegan suede cannot be dyed. The colour must therefore be selected from the fabric shades currently available.

Please bear in mind:

• Colours may vary slightly between different fabric batches.

• Velvet can appear lighter or darker depending on the direction of the pile and how the light falls across it.

• Vegan suede has a soft, matte appearance and may look different from satin in the same named colour.

• Velvet and vegan suede cannot be matched exactly to a colour shown on a screen.

• These fabrics should be protected from rain, moisture and staining.

• Not every shoe style can be made in velvet or vegan suede.

Glitter colours

Glitter finishes create anything from a soft bridal shimmer to a bold, colourful or holographic statement.

The glitter range includes classic silver, gold, champagne and rose gold alongside blues, greens, pinks, purples, reds, metallic shades and fluorescent colours.

Standard and holographic glitter

Standard glitter reflects a more consistent colour, while holographic and iridescent glitter changes as it catches the light. Holographic finishes may display several colours depending on the lighting and viewing angle, making them especially difficult to represent accurately on a screen.

Small amounts of loose glitter shedding can be normal with glitter-finished products, particularly when they are new. This does not usually affect the overall appearance of the shoes.

Crystal colours

Crystals can be used to add delicate highlights, coordinate with your wedding colours or create a fully sparkling statement design.

The standard crystal range includes clear, silver, white, black, champagne, gold, pink, red, blue, green, purple, grey and many other shades.

Crystal colours may appear lighter or darker depending on their size, setting, background material and the amount of light they reflect.

AB crystal colours

AB means Aurora Borealis. These crystals have a special iridescent coating that reflects several colours rather than displaying one completely uniform shade.

Clear or lightly coloured AB crystals can reflect tones of blue, pink, lilac, gold and green as they move through the light. Darker AB crystals can produce a richer, more dramatic multicoloured effect.

AB crystals are ideal when you want extra sparkle and movement. If you prefer a crystal that remains closer to one consistent colour, a standard non-AB crystal may be more suitable.

Pearl colours

Pearls provide a softer finish than crystals and work beautifully with satin, lace, floral and vintage-inspired designs.

Two pearl finishes may be available:

Classic pearls

Classic pearls have a smooth, softly reflective surface and a more consistent overall colour.

AB pearls

AB pearls have an iridescent coating that reflects subtle additional colours across their surface. They can appear different depending on the light and surrounding materials.

White, ivory and champagne pearls are not interchangeable. White is generally cooler and brighter, ivory has a warmer bridal tone, and champagne has a deeper cream or golden undertone.

Coordinating different materials

When combining satin, glitter, crystals, pearls, lace or flowers, I select colours that complement one another rather than expecting every material to be an identical shade.

A coordinated design may include several related tones to create depth and allow each detail to remain visible. This is particularly important with ivory, blush, champagne, blue and green, where small differences in tone are common between materials.

Colour availability

The charts show the wider range of colours that may be available, but they do not guarantee that every shade is currently in stock or suitable for every product.

Materials can occasionally be discontinued or vary slightly between manufacturing batches. If a selected material becomes unavailable, I will contact you before making your order to discuss the closest suitable alternative.

Choosing your colours

Before ordering, consider:

• The colour and undertone of your dress

• Any lace, beading or embellishments on your outfit

• Your jewellery colour

• Bridesmaid dresses and wedding flowers

• Whether you want the shoes to blend with your outfit or become a statement feature

• How the design may appear in daylight, indoor lighting and flash photography

If you are unsure, please contact me with the name or link of the design, your preferred colours and photographs of the outfit or details you would like to coordinate.

Photographs are helpful for understanding the overall style and colour family, but they cannot be relied upon for an exact colour match. A physical fabric swatch is always preferable when close matching is important.
