Ordering Information

Introduction

Everything you need to know before placing your order

The majority of items at Becci’s Bridal Designs are handmade especially for you. This gives you far more choice than buying a mass-produced item, but it also means that time, accurate information and careful planning are important.

This guide explains how ordering works, what information I may need from you and what to expect while your order is being made. Please read the individual product description as well, as available options and production times vary between designs.

Planning for a wedding or fitting date? Please order as early as possible and tell me both your wedding date and the date by which you genuinely need the item.

Handmade to order

Most of my designs are not taken from ready-made stock. They are created for the person who ordered them, using the size, colour, style and personalisation selected at checkout.

For bridal shoes, I collaborate with a small artisan shoemaking company that handmakes the base shoes. Once they arrive at my studio, I complete the colour work, embellishment and decorative finishing by hand. Lace motifs may be cut individually, crystals and pearls are positioned one at a time, and flowers, bows or appliqués may be made especially for the design.

Because the work is completed by hand, there may be tiny variations in positioning, colour or finish. These are part of the character of a handmade item; every order is completed to the same high standard, but no two pieces will be absolutely identical.

How Your Shoes Are Made

Processing times

Processing time is the time needed to create your order before it is dispatched. Delivery time must be allowed in addition.

As general guidance:

  • Handmade shoes commonly require approximately 8–10 weeks.

  • Veils and many handmade accessories commonly require approximately 6–8 weeks.

  • Highly embellished, made-to-measure or complex custom designs may require longer.

  • Ready-made or simpler items may be available sooner where clearly stated.

The production time shown on the individual product page at the time you order is the most relevant estimate for that item. Times can vary according to the design, material availability, current workload and time of year.

Orders are scheduled by their required dispatch date. Please do not assume that paying for a faster delivery service shortens the making time—it only changes the delivery service used after the item is complete.

Wedding dates and fittings

When placing your order, include:

  • Your wedding or event date

  • Any earlier dress-fitting, alteration or travel date

  • The country in which the order will be delivered

  • Any deadline that cannot be changed

Whenever possible, allow additional time for fittings, unexpected delays, international customs and any adjustments that may be needed.

How the ordering process works

1. Choose your design and options

Select the size, colour, heel, finish and personalisation offered on the product page. Options differ between styles, so please do not assume that a choice available on one design is possible on another.

If you need a combination that is not shown, contact me before ordering. I can confirm whether it is possible and whether the price or production time would change.

2. Supply the requested information

Personalised wording, names, dates, colour choices and measurements must be entered carefully. Please check spelling, number formatting and dates before completing checkout.

For shoes, I may ask for your usual UK shoe size and foot measurements. Made-to-measure and personalised orders cannot normally be changed or returned once work has begun, so accurate information is essential.

3. Your order enters the making schedule

Once the order and necessary details have been received, materials and base components may be ordered and the work scheduled. I may contact you if something is unclear, so please make sure the email address and telephone number on the order are correct and monitor your messages.

Delayed replies or missing measurements may delay completion. The production time cannot begin properly until all essential information has been supplied.

4. Your item is made and checked

Your order is completed through the stages required for the design. Before dispatch, I inspect the finished item and photograph every order so there is a record of its condition when it leaves my studio.

5. Your order is packaged and dispatched

The item is carefully protected and packed for delivery. Tracking information is sent when the shipping label is created or the parcel enters the carrier’s network.

Shoe sizing and measurements

My shoes are made in UK sizes and generally fit true to size, but fit is personal and can vary according to the style, toe shape and individual foot.

Before ordering:

  • Check the sizing information on the product page.

  • Measure both feet using the website measuring guide.

  • Measure at the end of the day, when feet may be slightly larger.

  • Wear the tights, stockings or socks intended for the event.

  • Tell me about significant width, bunion, toe or fit concerns before ordering.

Do not automatically size down because you sometimes wear a smaller fashion-shoe size. If your measurements sit between sizes or the two feet differ, contact me for guidance.

Made-to-measure options use the measurements you provide; they are not an in-person fitting service and depend on those measurements being accurate.

Do I need to provide the shoes?

In most cases, no. I provide the artisan-made base shoes used for my bridal designs. This allows the construction, fabric, heel and proportions to be planned as part of the finished design rather than simply decorating an unrelated ready-made pair.

In limited circumstances, I may be able to work with shoes supplied by a customer—for example, when a specialist size or particular base shoe is required. This must be discussed and agreed before the shoes are purchased or sent to me, as not every material, shape or construction is suitable for dyeing or embellishment.

Do not post shoes to my studio without prior agreement and the correct delivery details.

Custom and personalised orders

Personalising an existing design

Many current designs can be adapted through colour, fabric, crystals, flowers, lace, sole details, names, initials or dates. The available choices depend on the design and materials.

Small changes may be covered by the listed price. More involved changes require a custom quotation.

Creating something completely individual

If you have an idea you cannot find in the shop, send:

  • Clear inspiration photographs

  • The type of item or shoe style required

  • Preferred colours and materials

  • Your size, where relevant

  • Wedding, fitting and travel dates

  • Delivery country

  • Any fixed budget or essential details

The price and production time depend on the complexity of the work, material sourcing and number of handmade elements involved.

Inspiration images are welcome, but I will not make an exact copy of another designer’s work. I can use individual ideas, colours or themes to create something recognisably my own and personal to you.

Approval and design changes

Please make sure all requested details are included before work begins. Changes requested afterwards may not be possible and can require additional materials, cost and time.

Where a custom design needs approval, check the written description carefully. Colour appearance on a screen is not a guarantee of an exact physical match.

Colours, fabrics and material matching

Screens display colours differently, and photographs can change according to lighting, camera settings and surrounding colours. A website image should therefore be treated as a close guide rather than a guaranteed match to a dress or accessory.

Where an exact match matters:

  • Order a physical colour swatch where available.

  • View the swatch in natural daylight and your venue lighting.

  • Send a fabric sample from the dress or outfit if this has been agreed.

  • Do not rely on a photograph of a dress shown on a phone screen.

Many satin bridal shoes can be professionally dyed. Velvet and vegan-suede styles are available only in selected colours and cannot be dyed.

Material availability can change. If a selected component becomes unavailable, I will contact you before substituting anything that materially changes the design.

Colour & Fabric Guide

Rush orders

Rush orders are accepted only in limited numbers and must be discussed before ordering.

Please provide the item, size, delivery country and genuine deadline. I will check the making schedule and available materials before confirming whether it is achievable.

A rush order is not confirmed simply because a wedding date is entered at checkout or a faster delivery service is selected. If I have not agreed to a shorter production time in writing, the standard processing time applies.

International delivery and customs remain outside my control, so an urgent order may be declined if there is not enough safe delivery time.

Changes and cancellations

Cancellations

Cancellation requests must be made within 24 hours of purchase. After this time, materials may have been ordered and work may have started, so cancellation may no longer be possible.

This does not affect your statutory rights where an item is faulty or not as described.

Changes to an order

Contact me immediately if you notice an error in the size, colour, personalisation or delivery address. I will help if the order has not progressed too far, but a change cannot be guaranteed once work has started.

Changing size after a made-to-order base shoe has been ordered may require a new pair and additional cost. Changing a personalised detail after it has been made may require that component to be recreated.

All agreed changes should be confirmed in writing so there is a clear record of the final order.

Payment and order confirmation

Payment is processed securely through the website checkout using the payment methods displayed at checkout. I do not receive or store your complete card details.

After ordering, check that you have received an order confirmation and that the delivery address, options and personalisation are correct. If the confirmation has not arrived, check your junk or spam folder and contact me if necessary.

An order is not fully ready to enter production until payment and all essential information have been received.

Delivery and tracking

UK orders

UK orders are normally sent using a tracked Royal Mail service. The service shown at checkout applies to delivery after dispatch and does not shorten the handmade production time.

International orders

International orders are sent using a tracked service appropriate to the destination. Delivery estimates are provided in good faith but can be affected by customs, local carriers, public holidays and seasonal demand.

Customs duties, import taxes and local handling charges are normally the buyer’s responsibility unless the checkout expressly states otherwise. I am not responsible for delays caused by customs.

Tracking updates

Some parcels do not receive their first visible scan until they reach a main sorting hub. A shipping notification therefore does not always mean that several tracking events will appear immediately.

Please make sure the delivery address is complete and correct before ordering. Once a parcel has been dispatched, I cannot guarantee that the carrier will be able to change or redirect it.

Studio collection

Orders cannot be collected from my studio. This is a working studio and collection is not available under my business insurance arrangements. All orders must be dispatched using an appropriate delivery service.

Packaging, gift messages and presentation

Shoes are supplied in a shoe box with protective tissue and wrapping. Other items are packaged according to their size and materials so that delicate details are supported during delivery.

Packaging is eco-friendly, recyclable or made from recycled materials wherever possible.

Gift messages may be added where the option is available. Enter the message exactly as you would like it written and check spelling before ordering.

If the parcel is being delivered directly to the recipient, please make sure the delivery address and gift message are clearly supplied at checkout.

Returns and exchanges

The following is a helpful summary. The full Returns, Exchanges and Cancellation Policy applies to every order and should be read before purchase.

Standard returnable items

For an eligible item, contact me within 14 days of delivery and return it within the following 14 days. The item must be unworn, unused and in its original condition with all packaging, labels and supplied pieces.

Try shoes only on a clean, dry, carpeted indoor surface. Clothing, veils and accessories should be tried on with clean hands and away from make-up, perfume, fake tan and hair products.

Buyers are normally responsible for return postage and should use a tracked service. Original or upgraded delivery charges are not normally refundable unless the item is faulty or incorrect.

Items that cannot normally be returned

Unless they arrive faulty or not as described, the following are generally excluded:

  • Personalised items

  • Made-to-measure items

  • Bespoke or custom designs

  • Earrings and other hygiene-sensitive items where the hygiene protection has been removed

  • Worn, altered, washed or damaged items

  • Items that the product page clearly identifies as non-returnable

Sale or ready-made item return conditions should be checked on the individual product page and full policy.

Exchanges and fit concerns

If a standard-size item is eligible for exchange, contact me before returning it. A replacement may need to be handmade and will therefore require a new production period.

Made-to-measure or personalised shoes cannot normally be exchanged for a different size when they have been made using the information supplied by the customer.

International returns

International returns must be sent using a tracked service and correctly declared as returned goods. The country of origin should be shown as the United Kingdom where applicable. Any import fees caused by an incorrect declaration may be deducted from the refund or charged to the sender.

Do not send a return without contacting me and obtaining the correct return details.

Damaged, incorrect or missing items

If an item arrives damaged, appears incorrect or something is missing, contact me as soon as possible and do not wear, wash, alter or repair it.

Please send:

  • Your order number

  • Clear photographs of the complete item

  • Close photographs of the concern

  • Photographs of the outer parcel, box and packaging if there may be transit damage

  • A photograph of the shipping label where relevant

Keep all packaging while the issue is investigated. Depending on the problem, I may arrange repair, replacement, return or another appropriate resolution.

Damage that occurs after delivery through catching, pulling, unsuitable washing, outdoor wear or incorrect storage is not the same as an item arriving faulty. Please use the relevant care guide or contact me for repair advice.

Care information

Detailed care instructions no longer need to be repeated on this page. Please use the guide that matches your order:

The relevant care information supplied with an individual item always takes priority where materials or construction differ.

Frequently asked questions

Can I order several shoe sizes to try at home?

As most shoes are handmade to order, I do not offer multiple made-to-order pairs as a home try-on service. Please use the size and measuring guides or contact me before ordering if you need help choosing.

Can I visit or collect from the studio?

No. The studio is not open to the public and collection is not available under my insurance arrangements.

Can you guarantee delivery for my wedding?

I can confirm whether the current making schedule appears suitable and will dispatch by the agreed date, but carrier and customs delays are outside my control. Ordering early provides the safest margin.

Does faster shipping make my order faster to create?

No. A delivery upgrade only affects the service used after dispatch unless a shorter making time has been separately agreed in writing.

Will my handmade item look exactly like the photograph?

It will follow the selected design, but tiny differences in placement, material pattern and handmade components are normal. Screen colour may also vary from the physical item.

Can I change my delivery address?

Contact me immediately. An address may be changed before dispatch where the order and payment checks allow it, but it cannot be guaranteed once a parcel is in the carrier’s network.

When should I contact you?

Please contact me before ordering if you have an urgent deadline, unusual sizing, a precise colour match, a substantial design change or any doubt about whether an option is suitable.
